Recently i have joined a new employer after my H1 transfer has been applied, today i have recieved approval notice and its approved until October 15 2007,

Hi,
I applied for SSN for my wife using the EAD,the person at the SSN office noticed that the date of birth on the EAD was not correct, but still took the application.Our lawyer reapplied for a new EAD last week but we recieved the SSN, please let me know if my wife can work using the SSN or wait till the reapplied EAD is approved.

My receipt number starts with EAC. In order to check processing times, which service center I should be looking at?

I got my 140 approved and my 6 yr H1 gets over in Jan 2010.
Could someone tell me whn is the earliest I can apply for my 3 yr extension??
And is there a time period before you have to apply for the extension?

Hi,
My wife and I both have EAD and AP. My wife is derivative on my 485 application. I am using H1b for employment though, while my wife is using EAD for employment.
We are planning to travel to India. I am going to continue to use my H1 b as I am going for visa stamping on my trip to India. My wife will be using AP for reentry.
Questions:
1) Do you see any complications while reentering in this scenario either for me or for my wife since I will be using H1 visa and she will be using AP.
2) Does she need to carry her employment verification letter since she is derivative of my application? Can the IO at poe entry ask for her employment? What should she be saying her purpose of visit or any such questions? Would it be ok to mention 'pending AOS' as the status.

Friends : I meant to start this thread for updates pertaining to applicants whose applications are receipted from NSC, TSC and other centres, but still waiting to recieve their finger printings notices, EAD cards and advance parole too.

One of my close friends got RFE on I-485. He is working for the Company A, but his labour and I-140 applied in June 07 from company B as substitution. Currently his I-140 got approved. But he got query as mentioned below. Can some one send sample letter .
You must submit a currently dated letter from your intended permanent employer, describing your present job duties and position in the organization, you proffered position (if different from your current date), the date you began employment and the offered salary or wage. This letter should be in the original and signed by an executive or officer of the organization who is authorized to make or confirm an offere of permanent
employment. The letter must also indicate whether the terms and conditions of your employment-based visa petition continue to exist.

Dear All,
I have a question regarding the H1b visa quotas.
The USCIS website stated on April 20th that they are still accepting applications as the H1 quota of 65000+ 20000(Masters) was not full.
Does anyone have any information about the latest news in this regard?
Has the cap been met or are they still accepting applications?

This Unique Id is good for everyone, T.N.Seshan was recommending this way back in 1988. but the Present Ruling party at that time never agreed because they cannot do hacking polling booths but now it is all very easy.. Guess what.... the EVM electronic voting machines! get rid of that first go back to ballot papers, see who wins and who looses and how people of India are enlightened about the politics. The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports on today's citizenship swearing in of Irish-born James Patrick O'Donnell. Hello All,
I have two questions about using EAD and H1B status.
Background:
My GC is in EB3 category. I got my EAD in 2007 and renewing it every year on time. My H1B is also valid with my current employer. I have used advance parole while coming back from India. I don't know if that makes any difference.
Last year I have done some part time (after hours and weekend) work for different employer and got 1099 tax forms.
Q1) Does it mean my H1B is invalid or can I still continue to be in H1B immigration status?
Q2) If I find a new employer who is willing to file labor under EB2 then can I continue the H1B status with the new employer? If not can I work for the new employer using EAD and still start my green card process?
Please advice.
