I was not sure where to put this question. But would apprecite if anyone can reply to this based on the knowledge they have.
I know a friend who has done Bachelors in Computer Application in india. She is now in US and wanted to know the options for working or studying in US.
Is she eligible to take up MS degree..???
Is she eligible for H1b..???
Any suggestions will be greatly apprecited. I apologize if this questions does not suite this discussion forum.

The Federal government has accused these people of bringing 500 to 1,000 illegal immigrants a month into the United States. My PERM was filed during July 2008 and got audited. I've got my H1B 7th year extension up to Dec 2010 (including recapture time). Now what will happen if my PERM is denied say on March 2010?
Should I leave the country immediately on March 2010 or Can I stay in US till H1B validity i.e. Dec 2010?
Any inputs would be appreciated.

Hi,
I finished my six years of H1B in August 2008. I filed my I140 with concurrent filing in July 2007. I also received my EAD card (pending I140) but I never used it. The time has come to renew my H1B for the upcoming year. My employer filed I129, which was approved by USCIS. Now my employer is asking me to renew the EAD but I don't want to spend the money. Do I have to have the EAD with my H1B? What do you guys think?

Let the EAD expire, it makes more sense to use H1B when you enter the country. EAD and Advance Parole should be avoided and be used only as a last resort in extreme cases beacuse of the way immigration rules are carved.

Check the status using the H1B receipt number usually EACXXXXXX or WACXXXXXX

I'm Australian and would like to return to the U.S. to visit in-laws with my partner but I overstayed my visa on my last visit.
On my last visit, I received a 6-month visitor visa then extended my visa another 6 months. I overstayed my visa by 11 weeks; I was helping my same-sex partner move. This was two years ago. I did not work for anyone while in the States.
What can I do if any to improve my chances of not getting turned away at Immigration?
