Hi friends,
Today I had a LUD on my old I-129 (approved in Aug 2005). The online status say: On August 29, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.
I'm no more working for this employer and Ive changed to a new employer a year ago. What does this status mean?Any ideas?
Does this cause any problem to my current GC process which was sponsored by current employer?

There is no doubt that the H-1B program has been the subject of intense scrutiny and contentious debate over the last several years. Indeed, there have been many recent (both successful and unsuccessful) attempts to restrict the use of H1-B visas through legislation. Despite the prevalent backlash, the largest users of H-1B workers continue to defend their H-1B policies, with a call for the elimination of a yearly quota or cap. Under current law, USCIS can approve up to 85,000 new H-1B petitions, with 20,000 set aside for advanced degree graduates of universities in the United States. This year, for...

My husband got into the country through the Mariel port
immigration from Cuba in 1980 hes been in this country since then. Im a
US citizen we are legally married. The problem was that 20 years ago
when he was about to get is residency he got incarcerated and the
process was can canceled by the immigration office. About 4 or 5 years
ago he lost all of his papers he has no ID or any document that proves
his legal status. Which I think is not going to be any help anyways
because he never got a Visa number he did got a an alien number but of course he doesnt remember it so basically he is in paper limbo, because you need an ID to get an ID. He recently got his Cuban passport but now we find out that is basically useless. I been trying to get someone to please explain to me in this case what can we do? It seems that because he is Cuban and enter the country as a refugee almost 30 years ago no one can tell me for sure what will be the procedure in his case.
Please if there anybody that can help I would really appreciated

Hi,
We filed a dependent I-485 for my wife while she is on a F1 status. She has a EAD card (but my I-140 is pending). My understanding is that once she finishes school, she will not be able to get an OPT. Does it mean that she can accept employment using the EAD even though the I-140 is not approved? In case my I-140 is denied, will she lose her status and would have to leave the country?
Thanks.

Hi Folks,
I got the following email from USCIS
On March 17, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
Eventhough I did not get notice yet by mail I am little confused and concerended with their message, I have couple of questions
1) Does this really means my AOS application is approved? Is there anything else I should do?
2) what is ADIT processing that they are referening to?
Any thoughts or experiences from the gurus here is really appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
Jason

The media really should have picked up the truly obnoxious (and completely false) appeal to racism to convince his colleagues to vote against the DREAM Act last night: Mr. Speaker, if this act passes, if an illegal immigrant happens to be of a racial or ethnic minority, which the vast majority of illegal immigrants are, that individual, as soon as legal status is granted, will be entitled to all the education, employment, job training, government contracts, and other minority preferences that are written into our Federal and State laws. As a result, the DREAM Act would not only put illegal...

Hi,
I am applying for Citizenship after completing 4 years and 9 months as a Permanent Resident in US.
Can any one please let me know as what is the processing time to get the Citizenship after I apply?
Also I have planned to move to a different State after I apply for Citizenship.
Please let me know whether it fine to move to a different address after applying for Citizenship? Else is this move not advisable?
Does this address change delay my Citizenship processing time?
Appreciate your guidance.
Thanks.

To get SSN, you need to go to SSA office and apply. It will take 2-4 weeks to get the card in mail. You think it is automatic to get after entry.
Can anybody shed some light on this ? Would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Alok

On October 20, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) rolled out its new website. The EOIR is composed of the (1) Immigration Courts; (2) Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the (3) Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO). The EOIR announced the coming of the new website in a press release dated October 19. The agency stated as follows: "The EOIR website has been a prominent site for respondents, representatives, nongovernmental organizations, the press, and the public to gain updated information about the agency. The new site offers a clean design that mirrors the look and feel...

As Rodney King famously remarked, "Why can't we all get along?" As Democrats and Republicans in Congress have spent the past year beating each other up regarding the health care bill, do we want the same thing to happen with immigration this year? At the moment, President Obama cannot even find two Republican senators out of 40 to support Comprehensive Immigration Reform. And anyone who thinks that all Democrats are united in support of CIR must be drinking the Kool-Aid. But does this mean that immigration reform is DOA in 2010? Not necessarily. There are individual pieces of immigration legislation...
